INZ’s New Immigration Online System: What Advantages Does It Bring To You?

The INZ wants to establish a system that streamlines and improves the visa application process. With many of INZ's visa processing centers unavailable overseas during the pandemic and the bulk of operations moving onshore, the overall system's efficacy must be outstanding in order to boost processing speed and reduce turnaround time.

INZ planned to construct an agile online system as a solution. The work on this has begun, and we may expect to see a fully functional online immigration system very soon.

Major improvements to Immigration Online are on the way:

• ONLINE DASHBOARD: The Online Dashboard will display the application's status in real-time.
• TOOLS: This is a compilation of a vast number of tools that may be found within the portal itself (e.g., Photo quality checker, Global address finder and information correction tools, etc.)
• APP: A mobile app for eChip Verification ( planned for the future )
• Material: You may see and upload all of the documentation you'll need to submit online, including your medical certificate, declarations from visa sponsors and supportive partners, and so on.
• IMMEDIATE UPDATES: When more action is necessary, applicants will get an email notification.
• EXTENDED FUNCTIONS: If you applied for reconsideration or a variation of conditions using the new system, you could do it online as well.

Advantages: 

• Once the online application is filed, the processing of the application begins immediately.
• Processing tasks for an online application may be done by INZ employees from any place.
• Fewer follow-ups mean a visa application can be handled faster.
• Administrative activities are automated, which saves time.
• Rather than waiting for tasks to be completed one by one by a single individual, several employees may work on an application at the same time.
• In the future, more efficient processing implies faster choices for most applications.

From late 2021, the upgraded Immigration Online system will offer the following visas:

• Visitor Visas will be eliminated by the end of 2021. (excludes Critical Purpose Visitor Visa)
• Student Visas in the First Half of 2022
• Employer Accreditation and Job Check for Accredited Employer Work Visas by the middle of 2022
• Accredited Employer Work Visa (mid-2022)
• From 2022 onwards

Over time, the improved Immigration Online system will be able to process applications for all types of visas.

There will be three systems in operation until all visas are shifted to the upgraded system. People will be directed to the appropriate system based on the type of visa they are seeking for.
